About Entrywise

Entrywise exists to give you smart lock reviews built on real installation experience. Every review here comes from actually mounting the lock on a door, wiring it up, and living with it day to day, so you get practical answers instead of a rehashed spec sheet.

I've been installing and testing smart locks, access control systems, and entry tech for over three years now. What started as a side interest turned into something more when friends, family, and eventually strangers started asking me which lock they should buy. I figured I might as well write it down properly.

How we test

Every product reviewed on this site goes through actual, real-world testing. That means I install it on a door (or sometimes multiple doors), use it as my primary lock for at least two weeks, and test it with every smart home platform I can get my hands on. I check the app, test the battery life claims, try the backup entry methods, and see how it holds up in different weather.

I pay attention to the stuff that matters day to day: does the auto-lock actually work reliably? How fast does the fingerprint reader respond when your hands are wet? Does the WiFi connection drop every other Tuesday? These are the things you want to know before you spend $200 on a lock.
